Policies are resources which you can define and configure in TIBCO Business Studio™. You can define a policy and then reference it from multiple activities or binding in the same or different process. For example, you can define a Basic Authentication policy, and refer to the policy from an HTTP Receiver Activity in one process and a Send HTTP Request Activity in a separate process.
Basic Authentication Policy
Applying this policy ensures that users cannot access your application unless their credentials are verified.
When you create a Basic Authentication policy, the following policy resources get created:

You can configure Basic Authentication policy from the following activities and service bindings:
- SOAP and HTTP service binding
- REST service binding
- HTTP Receiver activity
Basic Credential Mapping
Applying this policy ensures that credentials in the consumer request are validated once and propagated across domains.
When you create a Basic Credential Mapping policy, the following policy resources get created:
