Policy Resources

Policies are resources which you can define and configure in TIBCO Business Studio. You can define a policy and then reference it from multiple activities or binding in the same or different process. For example, you can define a Basic Authentication policy, and refer to the policy from an HTTP Receiver Activity in one process and a Send HTTP Request Activity in a separate process.

Basic Authentication Policy

Applying this policy ensures that users cannot access your application unless their credentials are verified.

When you create a Basic Authentication policy, the following policy resources get created:
  • BasicAuthentication
  • BasicAuthentication_AuthenticationProvider
  • XML Schema related to Authentication
You can configure Basic Authentication policy from the following activities and service bindings:
  • SOAP and HTTP service binding
  • REST service binding
  • HTTP Receiver activity

Basic Credential Mapping

Applying this policy ensures that credentials in the consumer request are validated once and propagated across domains.

When you create a Basic Credential Mapping policy, the following policy resources get created:
  • BasicCredentialMapping
  • BasicCredentialMapping_FixedIdentityProvider
You can configure Basic Credential Mapping policy from the following activities and service bindings:
  • Send HTTP Request activity
  • Invoke REST API activity
  • SOAP and HTTP reference binding
  • REST reference binding
