High Availability

TIBCO Cloud™ Integration supports High Availability for TIBCO BusinessWorks™ Apps and TIBCO Flogo® apps by allowing you to create multiple instances of an app, which are in turn distributed across three zones.

When you sign up for TIBCO Cloud Integration you select a specific region where your apps is hosted, such as Ireland. Each region has three zones where your apps can run. TIBCO Cloud™ Integration assigns each app instance to the zone with the highest available computational resources at the time that the app runs.

If a zone goes down or an app instance stops reporting its status to TIBCO Cloud Integration, the app instance is moved to another zone to ensure maximum uptime. While the app instance is being moved, it might be temporarily unavailable.

To prevent downtime, the best practice is to scale your apps to two or more instances. When more app instances are added, TIBCO Cloud Integration evenly distributes the new instances across the available zones, selecting a new zone based on its available resources. If a zone or app stops running, the other app instances continue to run and the app instance that is not running is moved to another zone.

As you add app instances, TIBCO Cloud Integration continues to distribute each instance across all the three zones evenly. Additional app instances provide extra resources when there is a heavy workload.
